SDCompo.com in Computer Music Magazine, June 07 issue

Postby Sonicade » Tue Jun 12, 2007 11:23 am

Computer Music magazine has named SDCompo.com as site of the month in their Totally Trackers column (June, 07 issue CM113, page 11). The issue is focused on tracking and has some great articles including a detailed look into Renoise. Be sure to get your copy while they are still available! Issues should be available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and other magazine/news stands.

i enjoy the screenshot. it includes the one liners, which i haven't taken a magnifying glass to it yet, but here are some of the people i can tell who said something based on the length of their name and the flag:

chotoro, aged, rob williams jnr, crosfire, sonicade, and ambtax1

when i find a magnifying glass, i'll transcribe the one liners in the screenshot... assuming the print is high enough resolution :)

the screenshot was taken around march 24, according to the voting ending countdown (12 days before round 14 voting ended on april 5)

so now you guys can actually say your name appeared in the pages of computer music magazine :)

and sonicade, aren't you proud that your site is one of the "greatest bastions of the tracking community"? :)

I'm totally stoked! :) That's so awesome and it's really thanks to all the fantastic trackers who enter and have entered that we would be considered a great bastion of the tracking community. I'm very proud of SDCompo and the fun, interesting, excellent music that results from it. You guys should feel proud too because anyone who's ever entered or supported SDCompo is a reason why it's still happening. :)

SDCompo may be mentioned along with "greatest bastion" because tracking competitions are one of the greatest bastions of the scene and we are one of the few that are still active. I'm not suggesting or presuming that SDCompo has suddenly achieved the same profile as bastion websites like Pouet, Scene.org or ModArchive. I developed SDCompo because I love tracking compos and it's nice to receive this kind of recognition from Computer Music magazine.

oh, now i feel bad ;____;

i never meant that sdcompo didnt deserve to be in computer music magazine, especially since their focus was renoise, i mean i want sdcompo to be more popular etc etc, more great tracks to vote on

i wasnt trying to be like "sdcompo sucks" or anything, its a great compo and i will keep doing it forEVER AND EVER
