classical music round

what about covering classical music? there's a wealth of material to pull from, and no copyright issues.

rules: no sampling other performances, you have to use the given samplepack

thoughts?

Sounds cool, and can be cool (for example ELP's Pictures at an Exhibition) Covered classical sounds like an awesome Idea

I like it!

Samplepack or free for all anything goes? Classical music is so complex I'm leaning toward free for all. Total freedom in a classical cover theme? Beethoven's 9th traditional or trance remix, etc? Even add the any plugin rule for Fingersoup.

Voting Yes.

Making a pack, especially one that doesn't necessarily have classical or baroque era instruments will make it less likely that someone will sample a cheap classical music CD. I don't think any of us would do that, but just saying.

It also encourages something closer to Pictures at an Exhibition and farther from Hooked On Classics or that cover of Adagio.

For my part I never composed classical but I am willing to try!
A sample pack seems nice to me also...

Sounds great, though I'm weak in that area. I'd need to get some classical music in order to find something I'd want to cover. I still like the idea of covering demo songs!

Funny, just yesterday I was thinking that I'd like to try to cover a little song by Bartok. I'm all for it!

I'd like to have another ultimate freedom round for this theme :)

With a little restriction : only original samples (recorded, rendered vsti/au/etc)!
No sampling from copyrighted sources (those cheap classical CD's etc.)

I agree that free for all is a good idea (any plugins sounds excellent too.... stardust in Renoise please???).

I've got some plans in the works... I really hope this is the next round :D
