Round 36

Postby organic io » Tue Feb 24, 2009 5:36 pm

Doesn't have a thread yet. And it needs one. Because I have a good feeling about this round. Plus I plan on entering, and it's been 6 months since I've had a serious entry !!

Good luck everyone!!! :D

nice to hear that you'll enter. Looking forward.

I don't know if I'll make it this round.
I'm busy with another project,
but maybe a quick tune ? With quick vocals :-) ?

Just got the 1st half of my vocals recorded tonight. But now I am having problems with Melodyne not working in Renoise anymore ...

:(

It's just not transferring like it should. It's not transferring at all.

Edit: Paul to the rescue! Got it fixed. :)

Awesome dude. Can't wait to hear it.

I hope my song will get the extra time it desperately needs. But I fear I may have to rush around here at the end because everything is just taking longer than I expected... :?

Awesome round #17 entries

finally made a short one.

Was ill, buzy, ill, buzy, children ill, buzy.
Could only work with headphones at night
- some day I hopefully will have an own audio room -

Agree about the sample pack.
The samples did not differ very much (all about sawteeth ha ha)
Moreover a bit more drum samples would have been nice.

But I abused some unspecular samples as one of my main
instruments (e.g. subbass). So finally I'm satisfied with the pack.

Dude, I would have to say I "abused" some subbass too. So I'm interested to compare notes. :)

I agree with the folks that said the drums have too much reverb tail.

I used a gate to get rid of that junk.

When it occurred to me I used an envelope, but I still heard gigantic reverb on my final mix. It didn't sound bad in context, though, so I just left it.

Interesting ! Never did much with gates. Want to learn more. Is this a common technique to ged rid of reverb ?

BTW: I also prefer dry stuff, but I didn't notice the reverb so much.

I don't know. In the "real world" one would usually never be working with an already verbed sample, and try to de-verb it.

But it works, since the reverb tail is quieter than the transient, you can just chop it off there. I guess it'd work just as well to edit the sample too.
