Link votepack below. Rembmer to PM me with your top 3. Have fun!

tracker: FamiTracker

Lawnmower
Made with it2nsf (don't remember its home URL but a copy of the binary is in the source ZIP)

I started off with NTRQ but I wasn't getting a fast enough flow and realized I only had a few hours to make something. Note that the IT file as played in a tracker doesn't sound the same as the NSF (for example, the "triangle" is wrong by an octave,) the NSF is intended to be the final piece. The bugs are expected though never intended; I check for them constantly as I track, and tweak data to exploit them as if working with glitches.

Best wishes

Sorry, I hope including my emulator savestate isn't a total cop-out on the source file. I just don't have enough time right now to figure out how to convert NTRQ format to NSF. The savestate is for NesterJ on PSP, not sure if it may work with a PC version of Nester as well.

As for the song, it's also a bit crap. As chunter said, getting a flow down in NTRQ isn't quick to come by. I printed the manual off and the stack of paper is almost as thick as my PSP! And I have one of the older "phat" PSP's. :)
Recorded straight from the line-out of my PSP, again due to time constraints, so appologies for the shrill sound.
This song is probably embarassing compared to the others... But at least it's something :)

Now comments...

cocoa - x3
Awesome!!!! I have to admit I listened to this the other day when you PM'ed me the submission. I'm really really impressed by this. Immediately it reminds me strongly of MegaMan games. Really well composed and tracked.
Great job... Welcome to the SDcompo community, and I'm also glad to see you'll be participating in the Renoise knockout tournament :)

chunter - lawnmower
Very cool... Doesn't really remind me of NES music at all, so good job on breaking out of that box. Love the chip arps. The beat, bassline and melody really remind me more of a eurodance tune than anything else. Nice, upbeat and happy. Well done

Chotoro - Harmony mash
Skillfully composed and skillfully tracked. Did I really expect anything else? :) Frej, this is possibly the most "mainstream" sounding song I've ever heard from you. Not in a bad way at all... Quite contrary, I'm really digging the chords and harmonies, especially the part around :50 - 1:00
It sounds like you tweaked some really good sounds and effects out of Famitracker too. Very impressive. So when are you going to start being famous? :)

Interestingly enough, because we only had 4 people, we have two ties...

Tied for first place are:

Chotoro and cocoa.

You both win a mint condition still wrapped copy of Super Mario 3...

Hey guys,

listened to songs ... nice stuff.
I really appreciate the low fidelity. Give me good memories.

Chunter: great 80-pop feeling and good coherence.
Chotoro: indeed a harmonic mash up, but very nice. My favorite
Organic IO: reminds me a lot to old games. Good beat.
Cocoa: also very "gamey", more the action scene ;-).

What about a "Fantasy / Wizardry" Theme during next rounds.
I loved themes for "Faery Tale" "Bards Tale" or Wizball in
the Amiga Era.

@Organic IO:

Hey the Bible Adventures are actually great stuff ! Most nowadays stories are basically ripped off from the bible.

Awright! It's been too long since I played SMB3. Congrats cocoa!

3^3 is probably going to be the most difficult ruleset ever. 3 bits really is crazy lo-fi...
RPG / fantasy theme also sounds nice, btw.

@chunter: for some reason, the effect right at the start reminded me of Paradroid on the Amiga. It sounds like the lead sound is slightly out of tune for some notes though, was that intentional?

@Airmann: though the same could be argued for the Bible itself ;). However, that particular game really doesn't do the stories much justice... it doesn't do video games in general much justice either..

:-), well don't know the game - seems to be a slouch ?
but regarding the bible: what do you think is ripped from other sources ?
I mean it's pretty old and obviously not much copying errors in it.
