Right Brain vs Left Brain

Right Brain vs Left Brain

Postby organic io » Fri Oct 19, 2007 4:10 pm

I must be having some kind of perceptual problem ...

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... 95,00.html

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

i have looked and looked at this thing, tried looking away, coming back an hour later, several times today.... i still can't see it any way other than clockwise

my left brain must be broken :?

i'm usually pretty OK at seeing things like this two ways, but this makes me a little worried

i finally was able to see it counter clockwise!! but it took me a few minutes of covering up everything except the foot and concentrating really hard. now i can switch back and forth, providing i just focus on the foot

I see that thing spinning clockwise,
but if i start by looking only the head first and then
moving my eyes down a bit it looks like spinning anti clockwise :)
Then again, if i focus on the whole image, it starts spinning clockwise again.

sick.

Haha wow that is some cool shit. I was stuck in clockwise for a good 20 minutes. First I caught a couple glimpses of counter clockwise and then finally I discovered that if I looked away to the left and saw it out of my peripheral vision it would switch to counter clockwise. It kinda gets stuck on one or the other though ... very interesting! :o :D

Interesting... according to this article your fear of a perceptual problem may have been unfounded. It says the left and right brain are really deeply interconnected.

Still cool as all heck though.
