Standardized plugins packages for Psycle, Buzz, etc

Standardized plugins packages for Psycle, Buzz, etc

Silly newb question; what program is used to play .psy, and where does one find the URLs to the mp3/ogg/flac renders of the tunes that we've all submitted with our entries?

Thanks in advance.

AndyRay gets a bonus for using only one sample, though he failed to make it sound anything like a vocal. ;)

See you soon

Psy is Psycle

mp3 urls are most easily found in the right column of the listening area
http://www.sdcompo.com/listen.php

But they are also on each song's comments page right under the title

Here's the link to the latest release build of Psycle:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/psycle/psycle1.8.5-SSE2.zip?modtime=1191780403&big_mirror=0

Also must make sure any VSTs used in the entry are in your VST folder.

Had a few problems with three Pyscle songs.

For TeamPyscle I couldn't get BlueStereo VST to be recognoised properly just by taking the dll. I had to download all the Blue VST's from here http://www.digilogue.de/ and install them. Then it worked OK

For sdc28_Marko-Canto_Border_on_Arbitrariness.psy didn't have the jb_send VST which I got from http://www.jeroenbreebaart.com/audio_vst.htm again that worked.

The only one I failed to sortout was the sdc28_mutilus-sunburner.psy which said that it had been created in a newer version of Pyscle than the link above. It loaded after that message but when you play it nothing seems to play though it seems to be stepping through alright.

I haven't tried sdc28_CAG-lubrifonk.it. Is this for Impulse Tracker ???

No idea about Psycle problems.

CAG's and agp's entries was done with OpenMPT (modplug) and make sure you add the DLL files.
I had trouble getting one of the dll's to load in agp's song, blueverb or something like that. anyway ...

Thanks a lot for the info. That's interesting. Won't use that one again. :)

There's no problem using it, you just have to download blueline2.exe from the link. Running the exe installs all of the Blue VST's. Then your sorted

Yeah but I am trying to keep it relatively simple and legit. :)

So that's technically a violation, and also, having to include that entire bundle would have blown the file size limit.

I'm probably just going to adopt a standard pack policy, like an international treaty arrangment. :D I like Pupa's suggestion of the Classic Series.

Glad to hear you were able to get the tracks working. This also illustrates why allowing plugins is a pain in the ass. I think the idea of a standardized plugin pack for Psycle and for Buzz is a good idea. Something to match the DSP available in Renoise should put everyone on the same playing field.

If anyone from the respective Psycle or Buzz communities wants to create a discussion with peers and build a standard pack that would be helpful.
