Chord changes (fabled..)

Chord changes (fabled..)

I have to agree with the 'fabled chord changes' statement. I find it hard to get away from the 'same old chords' looped routine. It is only looking at recent tunes that has made me think differently. In particular the Refive tune and its many changes.

Try composing different styles! I recently attempted to write a Jazz tune and for the first few hours I was amazed at how I could not get out of all the minor chords I use so much. Eventually after listening to a bunch of Jazz tunes and playing with chords I was able to get out of my old mentality.

I believe I will be due for some experimentation soon as well!

When I find I'm either using similar harmony or using the transpose function too much, I'll try to see how long I can make a single melody last on a single chord or tonality. It's difficult, and I usually fail, but at least it helps break a rut.
