NTRQ is a Native NES music tracker:

So chunter, you said you got more out of NTRQ than LSDJ and LGPT?

So far I have written half a song on NTRQ and I like it pretty well. It does have a nice interface considering the limitations of the screen resolution. Almost looks Renoise-ish with the multiple areas of the screen.

Does anybody know of any other console based trackers besides this and LSDJ/LGPT? Something for SNES or Genesis perhaps? That would be awesome :D

Mukunda Johnson (who wrote the S3M2NSF and IT2NSF translators I often use) was working on a similar one that would translate to the SNES music format:

Most of the people I've met with interest in the SNES sound have taken sample rips and tracked with them in an IT clone.

There is also Shiru's TFM Music Maker:

I tried it once and made an absolutely terrible tune, so I haven't used it since. TFM was originally for ZX Spectrum with an FM expansion but is designed to output code for anything with an OPL or OPN chip, I suppose you have to give it addresses and CPU type...

Note that neither of those programs run native on the target system. The chief advantage to tracking native is that you don't have to worry about your tune sounding drastically different when you build the export file.

I compose original SNES music to some extent. Here's one of my fan soundtracks.

There was a project called Super Spectrum by >Entertainment for the SNES that was going for that. I have no idea what in the world happened to the project... I predict it has vanished.
Just consider me a person using a PPC Mac to make music... and to listen to your music! ^_^
