Personally recorded performance rules discussion
Continued from the 1 liners...
I think Juolac brings up an important point here. Sonicade, can you clarify whether hardware synths and vsti's played through hardware input (such as midi keyboard or drums) are valid? I have been wanting to record Addictive Drums through my DIY drums interface.
I think if these things are valid, then this should definitely not be a permanent rule, because people could use it as a loophole to use just about any instrument they wanted to. It should be more of an occasional thing (every 3 or 6 months or something)
Input ?
»01/05 11:14AM organic_io: So, personally recorded samples -- Would that also include personally recorded performances?
»01/05 07:29PM Sonicade: @organic, yes just like last round, personal performances that aren't one-shots. May make this a regular rule like the vocals rule.
»01/06 06:46AM JustinCredible: What do you mean by personal performances? And what are one-shots?
»01/06 10:59AM organic_io: JC, if you play an instrument, you can record it and use it in the song. One shot means "single hit" samples, for example 1 note from a piano or guitar [X]
»01/06 12:21PM juolac: I wonder.. are valid performances only from analogue instruments? Cause if not - Samplepack restrictions can easily be avoided and use a hard synth's all instruments and effects. And then rules are just about Theme and Filesize.
